ˇBienvenidos! The Association of Latino Princeton Alumni (ALPA) supports Latinos within the Princeton University community through networking, mentoring and mutual support. We advance Latino issues in student life, University affairs, personal and professional development, and outreach/service. Always cognizant that time spent on this side of paradise is ephemeral, we strive to contribute to the quality of life of all members of the Princeton community, beginning with our days as "pre-alumni" and continuing through to the Old Guard years. Please check back often and, if you haven't already, join the Pueblo-Latino discussion group on Tigernet.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

1) ALPA reception
Friday, May 30th: 5:30-8 pm
West College Terrace
Welcoming back all Latino alumni, their families, and guests, as well as alumni of all stripes who are Latinos-at-heart or Latinos-in- spirit. Although chips and more than one kind of Salsa! are on the plate, this is definitely "NA-CHO" ordinary Reunions event! Join our familia as we celebrate 20 years of gatherings on this side of paradise, with great food, great company, and to the tune of Latino beats and drinks. All are bienvenidos! ˇSi Se Puede! (the Originators' style).

2) ALPA Panel/ Discusion:
Over 37 Years of Reports on the Status of Latinos at Princeton and Where Are We as a Result?

Saturday, May 31st: 9:30 - 11 am
McCormick 106
Princeton students have been writing reports on the status of Latinos at Princeton since at least 1971. Join in on a discussion of the issues highlighted in these reports, including admissions, student life, the hiring of Latino faculty, and the development of a curriculum focusing on the experiences of Latinos in the United States. Hear what progress has been made, as well as what action plans are in place as a result of the most recent reports.

Contact Us:
As always, ALPA is eager to hear from those who have ideas for events and/or want to get more involved.

Dues:

Please remember that we cannot plan events or activities without your financial support. You should be receiving a PAW this week. Before you toss it, why not take a few minutes to register on our website (you need the ID on the PAW label). Registration is free, but while you’re here, you can pay your dues on-line! If you do not have a PAW and would like to pay dues on-line, just contact us and we can get you registered.

Benefits of Registration
Registration is required for access to a searchable directory of ALPA members and to access the photo archive (featuring photos from the 2008 Houston dinner). If you do not want to be in the directory, please let us know.
